Taylor Pierce's eyes kept glancing up towards the door and the glass windows that bordered it. Today was poised to be a busy day for the academy, even though many of the demigods and mortals here didn't know it. As a cabin leader, Taylor was privy to some of the more interesting gossip at the academy that passed through the Administrative offices which made his shifts on desk duty not as dull. Normally, it was just chatter he overheard about Betsy Butterfingers blowing up another beaker in the science lab or Moby Moodyalot giving the powers coach some attitude and getting detention over it; but today... today was different. The office was completely abuzz with the news that Chiron had found two older demigods and was sending them to the academy later today. Finding new demigods wasn't an everyday thing, but the C man himself bringing two of them in and they survived on their own past twelve? That was huge news and everyone who had heard the rumor was convinced that these kids had to be major. People were swearing up and down that Chiron had found some Big Three kids.
As he saw some older students pass by the office, Taylor wasn't sure if he was convinced. Lately, more blessed mortals were showing up and they tended to be older than most demigods. Perhaps this may be the case? But then again, why would Chiron himself be bringing them to the academy? He leaned back in his chair as he pondered this and mused, no pun intended, over these questions. Either way, he was going to be one of the first to find out and Taylor was curious to see the sources of these rumors for himself.
It was all Chiron's idea after the first few demigods began to appear, that everyone came to the academy first in order to make sure that they were going to the proper camp. The Romans were kind of easy to deal with as many of them had to pass Lupa's training first, but still every now and then a demigod or two slipped through the cracks and a son of Ares ended up being a son of Mars. That was the amazing thing about the portals at the academy, they wouldn't let anyone through unless they were going to the right place. Greeks went to Camp Half-Blood and Romans went to Camp Jupiter. For everyone else, the system was impenetrable, but ever since the Mortals have been showing up, things have been a little wonky. They could pass through either portal with little trouble, but none of them could pass through the camp's individual barriers meant to keep the local mortals out. They didn't have the needed ichor like demigods had.
They made everything crazy, but either way it was Chiron's idea to have a representative from both camps present when a new demigod or blessed mortal appeared, just to explain the whole set up of the camps and the academy in a clear manner. Taylor liked to think of it as being a glorified tour guide and since he was a cabin leader on desk duty for the afternoon, he was the lucky soul to represent the Greek side of things. His constant glances towards the door was his way of keeping an eye out for whoever was going to show off the Roman camp. It had to be a Praetor or a centurion, as only the camp leaders could be trusted with running this little parentage test, but Taylor had no idea which one it was going to be. They had to be out of class, that's for sure, but as the afternoon crawled on, he figured that a few of them fit that bill.
So his eyes kept glancing from the door to the security cameras nearby, showing the outside of the school, where the new demigods or blessed mortals would be arriving any minute. He doubted that they would get here before the CJ representative, but if they didn't hurry up and get to the office, whoever they were, well then... there might be a chance of them actually doing just that.

Axel was counting down the seconds in his head until the bell rang and class would be over. It was probably the highest number Axel had ever counted in his entire lifetime, as he was a terrible math student. Axel wasn’t the best student either, his ADHD paired with dyslexia did wonders for his reading skills, unless of course it was in Latin, which automatically translated in his head to reading English with ease. Thank goodness he was almost done with his class requirements, and he could fully focus on the legion and his centurion position. Who knew, maybe he’d even come back and teach close-combat fighting to the new demigods and blessed mortals. Although, the legionnaire still wasn’t sure how he felt about the mortals being around him, they sort of put him on edge. Something didn’t sit well in his stomach with them. Either way, he was about to meet two new possible demigods or possible blessed mortals today that had been the talk of the school and Camp Jupiter for a few days now.
The boy rapidly tapped his foot on the floor, getting close to zero on his countdown. Axel was eager to meet the newcomers, as everyone would be asking them what happened by the time he got back to camp. Plus, it was an honor that he had been chosen to represent the legion over a higher cohort centurion, or even a praetor. There were rumors that these kids would be of the big three after all. That was a big deal. But then again, these older kids could just be blessed mortals that seemed to be showing up older than most demigods anyway.
This wasn’t the centurion’s first welcoming day, as he’d done so with many demigods in the past. Some had shown up right in Camp Jupiter, just coming from the Wolf House, while others had to go through the process at the academy. Lupa had a way of picking out the Roman demigods, especially when they were in close proximity to Camp Jupiter. Not many Greeks were on the west coast area. None had accidentally gotten into Camp Jupiter, and it was probably because of the higher structure the legion had over the Greeks.
Axel finally heard the bell ring and sprung out of his seat. He made his way through the halls, weaving in and out of other students with ease. Most people knew to move for the centurion anyway, as he always carried two long, sharp daggers at his side. Well, outside of the academy. Weapons weren’t allowed on campus unless it was in the battlefield. They had to lock their weapons away near the portal from camp, or leave them at the battlefield locked up. People knew not to mess with Axel, though. But since he always carried a bit of suspicion when new people came around, he made sure to go back and grab his knives, hanging them back in their spot at his sides.
Bursting through the doors, the centurion was slightly out of breath, wanting to make sure he arrived in the Administrative Offices before the newcomers. He looked around the room to find the Camp Half Blood representative already there. Axel had seen him around before, but never got his name or had a conversation with the boy. Now was as good of a time as ever if the two would be co-tour guides today, so Axel stepped towards the desk the boy was working on and extended a hand for him to shake. “Hey man, I’m Axel, a centurion from Camp Jupiter. I'm helping out with the new guys coming today.” The demigod gave a small smile.
(Event takes place before Axel was made a praetor.)

After what seemed like an eternity, Taylor heard a familiar soft click at the office door as someone swiped their way in. Looking up he saw the semi-familiar face of Axel Laughlen walk in through the door. Although the two of them had never talked before, Taylor kind of knew who he was only because there weren't as many Roman leaders so it was easy to remember who they were they kept coming in and out of the office. Taylor on the hand must have been a stranger to him as Axel introduced himself, ah he figured as much. After all, Taylor was the leader of the Muse's cabin, he was used to his cabin being overshadowed by some of the others. If this centurion was one that didn't really care for the greeks, there was no way in hell he'd pay attention to the minors. Taylor stood up for a moment as he said, "Taylor Pierce, Muse's cabin." At that moment, he took the dude's outstretched hand and tried instinctively to pull him into one of those "unspeakable" man hugs. It was just the kind of thing that Taylor did. He was an art kid, he wasn't into all the stoic-ness his gender demanded. Either way, it wasn't very successful, but a few moments later he was sitting back down so it wasn't a huge deal.
Sensing what Axel's next question was probably going to be based on that last tidbit of information, and the countless of other times he introduced himself that way, he jumped the gun a little and explained with a single word, "Urania." Too many people wanted to know who his mom was of the nine of them. Truthfully, because of his love of music and some of the studio arts, he was basically all their kid. After all, there was a reason why he and his half-siblings didn't have their own cabin. Their aunts looked after everyone, just like how Taylor looked out for his cousins. The muses were the muses and it really shouldn't matter if his mom had influence over the stars while his aunts were in charge of the theater, but for some unknown reason, everyone had to know just exactly who birthed him.
"You heard the rumors?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. Taylor didn't know how far outside the offices the news would have spread as it was supposed to be hush-hush, but with so many teens passing in and out, he wouldn't have been so surprised to hear that the whole school knew already that Chiron was bringing in a big three. Hell for all he knew the rumor could have grown to something like he was bringing in like ten titan kids or some other bullshit like that. Though, truth be told, it might have been a good thing that Taylor was stuck on desk duty because he probably would've been eager as hell to spread that around. Sure, as cabin leader he was supposed to be above it all, but he really wasn't. Who could blame him though? It was Taylor's guilty pleasure and after all, who didn't love a good piece of gossip? And that's why Taylor couldn't even wait for Axel to open his mouth to say, "Chiron's bringing them in himself." There was nothing else to say beyond that, Axel would surely get the full impact of how big this was. Sure, Romans weren't too keen on letting Chiron and Mr. D run things since they were used to running their own show, but even they accepted the fact that Satyrs were the ones who found new demigods and brought them to the academy. Seeing Chiron personally deliver demigods was a once in a lifetime event and on top of that there were at least two. This was huge and Zeus knew that they were never going to see this again, ever.
At that moment, one of the older teachers, a demigod who didn't want to leave after graduating for one reason or another, passed by them and Taylor instantly hushed up. Sure, he had been listening to them pass on these rumors all day, but that didn't mean that they would be okay with hearing him pass it along. He was still a student, he could still get a detention if this teacher so desired. Taylor wasn't the best at playing cool. His eyes trailed after the demigod as he left the office, waiting to hear that all familiar click behind them before Taylor immediately turned back to Axel and said, "They gotta be big three, man. Why else would Chiron, of all people, bring them in?"
As they were talking, Taylor had turned away from the intercom and the small little door camera, the only mortal security this place had, but it wasn't really needed. However, it placated the mortal parents who normally had no idea what this place really was, so yeah during the school hours, the front doors were locked and everyone had to be buzzed in. Ridiculous? Yes, but it wasn't like Taylor made the rules. He just enforced them. Either way, that didn't matter because, at that moment, a buzzing noise filled the office and Taylor whipped around in his chair towards the sound. He eagerly scooted over to the system and pressed a button that stopped the buzzing noise and opened up the camera. All that greeted him, and Axel if the Roman was peering over his shoulder, was the lovely profile of Chiron... there was no sight of the mysterious demigods in the small black and white view that they had. Immediately, Taylor released that button and pressed a nearby green one, unlocking the door with a loud click that they couldn't hear in the office. No doubt Chiron would be throwing that door open and allowing the demigods inside for their first view of the new place they would call their home.
"They're here," Taylor said simply as he got up and made his way towards the locked office door, pausing to grab two lanyards from a key rack on the side of the door and he tossed one underhanded to Axel. Taylor's keycard was orange while Axel's was purple, clearly denoting which camp each boy was from. As Taylor put it around his neck he said offhandedly to the Roman, "I think he's going to make us do the usual stuff; explain the first few floors like their kind of school then kinda ease them in the whole demigod thing on top, before bringing them out the portals." Taylor didn't know why he explained the whole thing, all the leaders knew the routine. It was probably the safest way to do it, especially if their adventure here was pretty smooth and monster free. Mr. D had fixed way too many minds to just let them keep springing them into it, especially after the unsuspecting gifted mortals started showing up. With that being said and with Axel following close behind him, Taylor opened the door and stepped out into the foyer, eager to see these demigods for the first time.

Daniil and Dabria had been steadily making their way to the East Coast in their stolen red neon, using their newfound powers as they went to get what they needed. They didn't quite have a destination, but the East was where they had come from, and maybe they'd eventually return home. The small sedan was filled with various stolen items and food, though from an outside perspective and anyone who asked, it looked to be empty thanks to Dabria's manipulation. These powers were a sort of blessing for the siblings, allowing them to get by with more ease in the years after their parents' death, that was until they had tried to steal from the wrong person. The idea was that the man in the wheelchair had been an easy target, even if it had been wrong morally, the pair were running out of supplies by the time they had reached New York, and judging by his attire, he had a moderate amount of wealth. The plan was that Dabria would distract the man while Daniil would steal his wallet. Dabria's distraction seemed to be going well, so Daniil took the opportunity to speed in and take his wallet, but instead found his arm in a vice grip. The seemingly helpless man introduced himself as Chiron from the Greek myths, and told the pair to follow him. The twins were then brought to a place the old man had referred to as The Academy. Daniil couldn't really recall how they had gotten there, as Chiron had somehow transported them. The white haired boy's head was spinning with all of this new information, and stuck close to Dabria in the event that they needed to make a quick escape. The Academy looked similar to an American high school, the older man having to press a small buzzer to enter the building, Daniil and Dabria hanging slightly behind as a loud click signaled that the door was unlocked. As they entered the building Daniil quickly surveyed his surroundings, it seemed to look like a normal school lobby, nothing too special about the area. What caught the teen's eye however, was the taller boy waiting inside with two black weapons hanging at his side. With a wicked grin, Daniil sped forward, nicking the black weapons from the unsuspecting demigod, and returning to Dabria's side he examined the daggers, turning them around in his hands. The boy gave the other boy a cocky smile, " Didn't see that coming?" he quipped, feeling the weight of his new weapons in his hands as he stared down the boy he had stolen them from, taunting him to try and take them back. The twins didn’t exactly know where they were going after they had committed their biggest crime yet by stealing an old dodge neon. All they knew was that they needed to get out of the immediate area, so Daniil used his speed to get her and the car off the scene fast, as it was his newfound power. Throughout their travels. Dabria and Daniil stole various other things they needed to survive and also live as comfortably as they could out of a small sedan. The girl’s powers came in handy when they needed to hide their stolen objects from the human eye. The pair had no idea they would get busted by a man in a wheelchair of all people. People like him were typically very immobile, no? Yes. Dabria and Daniil picked out the man, and the girl had attempted to distract the man by rudely inquiring how he had ended up in a wheelchair, making snide remarks on how the man was weak and worthless. However, he did not have an amusing reaction for the girl, and just sat their, almost expecting Daniil to come up near him to try and steal his wallet. Desperate times called for desperate measures, and they needed more money to survive. What Dabria didn’t expect in the slightest that this guy was from Greek mythology. With her and Daniil originally coming from Russia, Greek mythology had no place in their lives. They had no clue what this guy was talking about, but with his power to stop Daniil and pick up on Dabria’s manipulation power, the two allowed him to take them to a place where he promised a “better life for their kind,” whatever that meant. Chiron, as he introduced himself, transported them to a strange American high school, where they arrived on the porch of the building. He wasted no time in explaining anything, and Dabria was frustrated that she did not know what was going on in the slightest. One second, they were in the woods with the man in the wheel chair, next, they were standing in a much different woods in front of a new building. Staying silent and keeping close to Daniil, the girl had to focus to keep her nervous feelings invisible to those around her. Dabria entered the building and looked around, then back up at Daniil, who had already vanished for a split second and came back to his spot next to Dabria, wielding two shiny black knives in his hands. Already, seriously Daniil? We don’t want to piss these guys off just yet… Knives though? Couldn't her brother have just gone for the wallet they originally wanted? The girl shook her head apologetically, having a bit more ability to thought process than her brother. Although, Dabria decided not to remark on her brother’s antics. “So, what arrre ve even doing herrre? Zis happened all so fast…” The twins hadn’t talked to Americans much while they were here, mostly keeping to themselves, so they both still had thick Russian accents. Dabria wondered if the group would be able to understand each other. Her English was still a bit broken here and there as well. Axel Laughlen , Taylor Pierce , Daniil Ivanenkov

There were so many Greek “cabin leaders” running around the academy, Axel couldn’t keep track of most of them. They had many more leadership positions over there, it seemed far more disorganized to the legionnaire. There were too many gods and goddesses to split up into cabins, in his opinion. Nodding to Taylor’s introduction, Axel was pulling into one of the most awkward guy hugs he’d ever experienced. Normally the boy would only hug his closest friends, but here he was, hugging this random dude from Camp Half Blood. Axel tried his hardest not to cringe as Taylor sat himself back down. The son of Venus wasn’t one for awkward encounters, so hopefully this was as bad as it would get with the new kids coming to the academy at any moment. Once Taylor added his godly parent, Axel decided to respond. “Oh, that’s cool. My mom’s Venus, or uhh, Aphrodite is her Greek form.” The demigod didn’t know if Taylor knew the “conversions” of Roman to Greek gods or not, so he felt it necessary to specify. Axel may not have been the best student, but he did find particular interest in both sides of mythology. It was one of the few classes he didn’t normally sleep through. It blew his mind that his own mother had two different “forms”. It was a gray area, but he chose just to accept it rather than to put too much thought into it. This Taylor guy had a ton of energy, and Axel though he himself was a lot to handle at times. The other demigod wouldn’t even let him answer the question before he went on. “Yeah dude, the praetors told me the situation.” Honestly, Axel didn’t understand the big deal about this Chiron guy, or “Mr. D” who was really Bacchus? The whole thing made Axel’s head hurt. Either way, he wasn’t too keen on the Greeks running the majority of things around here when clearly it was the Romans who knew how to run a legion with far better structure. It was the Greeks’ idea though, and the Romans were just invited. Although, Axel loved gossip himself, and couldn’t help but tell a few people around the academy. He couldn’t be quite convinced the kids arriving today were big three, as it could be very possible they were blessed mortals. Axel wasn’t too big on being around the Greeks a lot, but he found it even more weird they were sharing their world with mortals too. The boy cocked a brow at the demigod who briefly came into the office, causing Taylor to stop talking. Once he left, the other boy picked right back up where he left off. Axel shrugged at the question, still feeling skeptical about Chiron after his four years at the academy. The Roman caught his purple key card Taylor tossed him, and stuck it in his pocket, lanyard hanging out. “Right, the usual stops.” He’d done this before, just not with Chiron making an appearance. He followed the Greek into the foyer to meet the new students. Axel didn’t expect what met him on the other side of the doors. A boy and a girl, and from the looks of them, they were foreign and had been on the run for a while. The boy with bright white hair gave him a devious grin, one he knew all too well by having a twin brother. In a flash, the boy had sped up to him and returned in his original place by the girl carrying his precious black knives in his hands. Oh no you don’t, get your grimy hands off my babies. There was no hesitation in his voice as he used his strongest charmspeak. “I'd like to see things from your point of view, but I don't think I could get my head that far up your ass. Now give me back my knives now or I swear I'll get god of war.” Axel held out a hand to take the daggers back, willing them to be handed over with his voice. This kid needed to be put in his place, and Axel would make sure it was straight to the bottom. This encounter just turned sour, and he had waited anxiously all day for nothing. There had to be some kind of punishment for this. Or maybe Axel was just being overdramatic. The centurion was so infuriated he didn’t even answer the girl’s question. It was hard to understand them with their Russian accents anyway. “Let’s just get this thing over with.”Daniil Ivanenkov , Taylor Pierce , Dabria Ivanenkov

Taylor knew that the Romans and Greeks didn't think too highly of each other, even though they did just spend the last thirty years existing in the same place so to speak, and although he didn't like to admit it, even he knew that he had some biases against his Italian peers. To him, the Romans were always a bit too battle happy for his taste and it didn't hurt that Taylor didn't really get the whole cultural lack of individualism that was happening over there. (Let's be real, that was just plain old weird to this Muse boy.) They just seemed to take the whole mantra of all work and no play, just a bit too seriously for his taste and that just wasn't right. In all honesty, Taylor was genuinely surprised that they weren't little more than a collected group of anxious wrecks with all the stress that was on them. Why the pressure alone had to be just as great as what Atlas had to bear, if not worse because of their culture not being the friendliest to a self-care routine. Those poor kids need some music and a paintbrush, Taylor quietly mused at the thought, just knowing that things would be so much better for the whole lot of them if they could just learn to let go every now and then.
But never in a million years would he ever insinuate that they were a bunch of idiots. Axel though, on the other hand, clearly had no problem with doing so as he so casually insulted Taylor and by extension, the other greeks by feeling the need to explain who Venus was to the cabin leader. Taylor's eyes narrowed and his happy demeanor instantly faded to a very uncharacteristic deadpan. At this moment, anyone who knew Taylor would've probably felt a chill go up their spine once they saw how quickly this normally happy-go-lucky boy transformed. Needless to say, Taylor was highly offended by Axel's assumption. "I know who Venus is..." He said emotionlessly. Taylor knew that there was a stigma with the artsy kids such as the muses and the rest of 'em. Some people just saw them as hipster airheads with only the brain cells required for strumming a guitar and true... Taylor was no Athena kid, obviously, but he was not a half-wit; despite what this λυκοβυζάχτρα (wolfsucker) seemed to think. Hell, even the daftest of mortals had a good grip on who the Romans were in relation to the Greeks.
His demeanor began to soften and return to normal once they moved past that topic and refocused on the task at hand. However, Taylor knew that things were probably not going to go fairly smoothly as he had barely gotten a chance to size these two "big three" kids up, (who he didn't peg as being twins yet, they just seemed too different for him to catch onto right away) when the dude literally raced forward and stole the two blades hanging at Axel's side. The crazy thing though was that Taylor barely saw the kid move. He simply moved too fast for Taylor to see it happen, but he had still seen it before and any hopes of these kids being big three instantly deflated from the muse's kid. "So, Hermes... or Mercury," He said, side glancing at Axel and being sure to catch his assumption that these kids could be Roman. New blood Romans were fairly rare though, the gods were more restrained than their eastern counterparts, to say the least. However, he doubted the centurion even heard him as soon as Taylor finished his sentence, Axel brought out his charmspeak, clearly, he was more interested in getting his precious blades back from this thief more than anything. Even though the Roman's voice wasn't directed at him, the charmspeak still did a number on him and sense of extreme guilt washed over Taylor. How could I just stand there while he took the blades? he quietly thought to himself. Without him realizing he was doing so, his hands reached for the small celestial bronze dagger at his own side. He rarely used it... something told him that he needed to give it to Axel... to say sorry... how could he...
Wait a minute...
Taylor shook himself out of the daze and let his hand fall limp at his side. He hated charmspeak enough when the Aphrodite kids used it, now he completely despised it since the λυκοβυζάχτρα wasn't careful enough with making sure that other people weren't going to be influenced by it. He glanced over at Chiron, doubting the centaur would say anything. The Romans were notorious for disrespecting both his and Mr. D's authority since they weren't their camp leaders. Sure, it wasn't directed at him, but still, the centurion should know to be far more careful with that kind of power...
"You should probably give those back to him," Taylor said sternly to the dude, letting his cabin leader side begin to come to the surface and waiting for a moment before adding, "Yeah, we wouldn't recommend taking things off of people while you're here. It's probably not going to be pretty in the end..." Instinctively, he winced a little at the thought of what an Ares kid might do if he wasn't careful. Taylor doubted that even Axel could charmspeak his way out of that one.
Nodding at the centurion's aside, Taylor also thought that getting this underway was the best course of action at the moment. He glanced over at the girl who asked what was happening with Taylor barely being able to understand her through her heavy Russian accent. Not your typical demigods then... He quietly thought to himself before jumping in to diffuse the situation, "So, I think we all started off on the wrong foot here. I'm Taylor and this λυκοβυζάχτρα over here is Axel," He then paused for a moment, waiting for them to introduce themselves as well. Taylor also looked very carefully at them, waiting to see if there would be a glimmer of recognition in their eyes at the greek he used. If they were Greek demigods, they would understand. He just hoped that the Roman didn't know Greek too... After the pause, he continued to speak in a somewhat chipper tone of voice, "Anyway, this place is what we call the academy and it's where people like us," he said, motioning to both Axel and himself, "Come to train and since you're here, you're probably like us too..."
Taking a deep breath in, he asked the question of the hour, the first gauge that he and Axel would have as to how much this pair knew, "Have you heard of the gods... particularly the Greek and Roman ones?"
