my skin has turned from porcelain to ivory to steel.
Callie rose that morning with the thought of going for a nice run around camp. It was something that she enjoyed, getting some energy and exercising. Plus, if a future ever came where she needed to run like hell, she wanted a good start on staying fit. Back before she came to Camp Half-Blood, Callie had been into exercising a lot. From working out every day, doing yoga on the day she didn’t work out, and going for a long run in the morning with her dog, it was the life. Now she was minus her companion, but she still enjoyed those long runs in the morning. With a yawn, Callie quickly threw on some comfortable clothes – a sports bra and yoga pants – threw her hair up in a messy ponytail, promptly brushed her teeth, and was out the door of the cabin before anyone stirred.
While it wasn’t too early in the morning, it wasn’t a time that anyone seemed to be awake. Or at least, not a lot of people that was. It looked like others were early rises as well because each day she woke up early for her jog around camp and down by the lake, people seemed to be wandering around. While it wasn’t a time that everything was bustling, it was a time that people seemed to enjoy the quiet.
Her included.
So, without any thought, she began making the small walk to the lake, wanting to see if her running buddy would show up. Sometimes Callie was even up too early for that girl as well, but maybe today would be one of those days that she showed.
