It had been about a week since Axel had toured Astrid around camp, initiating her to the ways of Camp Jupiter. It had also been a week since they planned their first date. It all happened kind of fast, but the two just seemed to click instantly, so why not see where it went? They had agreed to begin their day long event with Axel teaching Astrid how to fight with his long daggers, a skill that Axel excelled in, as well as sword fighting. They tried both to see which Astrid preferred, and to give her some skill in both types of weapons. The more weapons you could fight with as a legionnaire, the better of you were. They met in the Field of Mars, a more private place than the arena. Being the weekend, the other legionnaires we’re enjoying their day off elsewhere, as there was no one else around them throughout their training session. Exhausted and sweating hard, Axel threw both of his daggers into the ground then pulling his shirt over head head, throwing the drenched muscle tank down next to them. He ran his fingers through his hair, pushing back the stray strand so he could look up at Astrid. “Alright I’m calling it. That was good, you’re a natural fighter.” Smiling, he stretched his arm behind his head pulling on his elbow with his opposite hand, making sure to flex for the girl’s viewing pleasure. As Axel continued stretching, he asked, “So which weapon did you like more?” The boy moved to the ground to stretch out his legs. It was all personal preference. What weight felt better in the hands of the user, the length of the blade, what distance was preferred to fight at. The sword was about a foot and a half longer than his daggers, which were only about a foot long. Axel could go either way, but he liked fighting with two blades at once, so if one was hit away, he could use a fist too. He really hoped Astrid had fun, Axel always enjoyed a good spar and teaching her how to defend herself was very rewarding. Hopefully in battle he wouldn’t have to worry about the younger demigod too much. Astrid Hawke

Astrid had been getting into the swing of things at Camp Jupiter, she was good at keeping on schedule and had been working on teaching herself Latin as well as the Roman gods, the latter being far easier than the former. It had now been a week, which meant today was the day she'd have her date with Axel. The notion that she was even going on a date was still odd to the blonde, seeing as she had never been on one before, but she hoped everything would go well. The teen got up rather early, dressing in her work out attire and her favorite Blackhawks hoodie so she could go through her usual routine of a jog around camp before making her way over to the Field of Mars to meet her date. Hawke had to admit that Axel was a good teacher, he was insanely good with his daggers, and almost as good with swordsmanship, and by the end of their session the girl was exhausted. She grinned in response to Axel's compliment, " I guess playing hockey did have some benefits." she replied, starting her cool down stretches. The blonde mirrored the other demigod, starting her stretches with her arms, laughing at Axel's flexing. Astrid dropped to the ground with the other demigod, her legs out in a sideways split, she stretched to touch her toes on her right side as she listened to his question, " Although I did enjoy the daggers, I think I'm better with the sword." she admitted before alternating legs, " I think part of it is because the sword is closer to a hockey stick, so I've already got experience with a similar weight." she reasoned, bringing her legs directly in front of her and touching her toes. " I don't know about you," she began, pulling her legs in so she could stretch her hamstrings, " but I'm starving after that session." she commented, continuing her stretching, " I'm supposed to make spaghetti for us, right?" she asked with a smile before grabbing her hoodie that she had discarded once they began training. It was good Axel had decided to call their session to a close when he did, because Astrid looked just as beat as he did. Not in a gross way, though, he admired the girl for being able to keep up with the more experienced demigod. She was a hockey player though, and from what he could tell, it was not an easy sport, and one needed to be in good shape to be able to excel. He could especially tell from her body. Much like him, the girl had ditched most of her clothing once they started to sweat, and it was hard for Axel to keep focused on the fighting. Although, he probably didn’t let his guard down enough for Astrid to realize he was checking her out. At least he hoped so.
Axel caught Astrid’s laugh as he flexed his arms and abs. He looked down at his six and then back up at the girl with narrowed eyes and a sly smile. “Oh come on, you can’t tell me you’re not enjoying the view.” The boy had put in work to create his sculpted body, and he wasn’t about to hide it, especially when he was on an unconventional date with a beautiful girl that gave him a valid excuse to take his already revealing shirt off.
Axel nodded at Astrid’s reasoning. The sword was made of a metal rather than wood of a hockey stick, but the length and weight did seem similar. Now that she mentioned it, Axel recognized the other demigod’s more accurate and precise movements with the sword. “Well, now you can fight with both if needed. I’m glad you still liked the daggers though.” He paused from stretching and put pulled his black daggers out of the ground, whipped them off, and put them back in their holsters at his hips. At Astrid’s question about making them spaghetti, his jaw dropped. “You mean to tell me you forgot about the spaghetti?” His stomach audibly growled. He smiled, letting on that he was joking. Finishing his last stretch, he got himself up and picked is tank top up and hung it around his neck. Next, he held his hand down to help Astrid off the ground.

Astrid had realized at some point during their training session that she probably could have worn something less...revealing, though to be fair it was what she usually wore, and she was sure that Axel was enjoying his view as they went along. She had caught the other demigod getting distracted by well...her and used that to her advantage as they trained. She used this knowledge by not only striking while he was distracted, but also making an effort to give him more to look at, so to speak, so she could use his distraction more often as they trained. Hawke rolled her eyes, " You don't have to flex for me to enjoy it, you dork." she replied with a smirk, even she had to admit that Axel was well toned, but flexing wasn't necessary. " Besides, if you keep flexing like that your muscle might burst, and we can't have that, can we?" she quipped as they continued to stretch. The blonde debated purposely not looking at the other demigod to tease him, but figured it'd hurt his ego and instead made a point of checking him out to make him feel better, if not to make him laugh. The teen flashed the taller demigod a grin from her spot on the ground, " You are a pretty good teacher," she noted, " I can confidently say I'd be able to use them in a life or death situation." she added with a smirk, " Maybe next training session we should work on hand to hand sparring, I'd like to think I have the advantage there." she suggested as she continued to stretch. At Axel's accusation Hawke put her hand to her chest in mock offense, " I would never forget the most important part of this date." she retorted with mock indignation. The blonde took the other demigods hand and stood up, stretching outward one last time. " We do still have to get ingredients though if I'll be making it." she commented, " If I recall, you know somewhere in New Rome we could get them from?" she reminded with a smile. Axel Laughlen

Axel revealed a wide grin. “Ah, so you are enjoying it.” Of course she was, anyone who had eyes would, in his opinion. He thought it was quite cute how she called him a dork. As if he knew he didn’t have to flex to look good. It was his turn to roll his eyes at Astrid’s remark. He dismissed her comment with a flip of his hand. Axel wouldn’t go that hard, anyway. He caught Astrid really looking at him too, but with her personality, he wasn’t sure if she was just doing that for his unbearably large ego. Oh well, a check out was a check out.
The boy watched the other demigod with a serious smile as she commended his teaching skills. “Thank you, I’ve been doing this long enough I’d hope to be able to pass what I’ve learned to others.” Axel had trained many demigods in his years being a legionnaire, and he wasn’t about to stop here. It gave him peace that he could teach others how to protect those who led a dangerous life of a demigod. It especially pleased him that Astrid was an excellent fighter. He couldn’t be worrying about her anymore than he already would just because, well, now he cared about her just a little bit more than most of the other campers. Axel nodded to her suggestion. “Yeah, I’ve had enough training with my brother for that one…” He smirked, knowing that was one of their favorite activities to do: spar.
Axel laughed, pulling Astrid up. Although when she stood, the two were quite close, their noses almost touching. Not wanting to take the more… romantic route yet, Axel turned what could have been a very awkward moment into a silly one by playfully blowing a raspberry in her face. He let go of her hand as she stretched, and thought about where they could get ingredients for a moment. “Yeah, there should be a little market in town that you can get what you need.” Axel then remembered that they were disheveled and covered in sweat. Definitely in no condition to go out in public. “We should probably clean up first, though. I don’t know about you, but I feel gross.” He smirked, feeling the sweat drip down his body. Shivering in disgust, he motioned to the barracks. “Come on, lets go.”

Astrid scrunched her nose in response, " Maybe a little," she responded, " its not as though there's anything else to look at here." she quipped with a smirk. She could have easily found a blade of grass to keep her focus on, or really anything, but the blonde instead found herself genuinely admiring the other demigod's body. She had never really explored dating, so she wasn't quite sure what her own threshold or qualifier for an emotional bond was before developing romantic feelings, but at this point it almost felt as though she had known Axel her entire life instead of just a week. Hawke raised an eyebrow, " Does everyone take the time to train everyone else, or is that just a Centurion thing?" she inquired, " Or do you take every pretty girl you find to train?" she added with a smirk, knowing full well that it was she who had suggested the training session, but to be fair he had been eager to help her out, which she wasn't exactly upset about. At the mention of the other demigod having sparring practice with his brother the teen smiled, " You've never sparred with a hockey player though, most fights on the ice end bloody." she replied. Astrid was suddenly very aware of the close proximity she and Axel were in as he pulled her up and she stared into the other demigod's eyes, blue eyes meeting brown, until the taller demigod blew a raspberry in her face and she nearly fell back while laughing. Composing herself, the blonde listened, " That should be perfect, I'm just hoping they have it all." she replied. Hawke raised a brow as the other demigod suggested they clean up, " You mean you don't want the entire camp to know we just finished an intense training session?" she retorted, grabbing her discarded leggings from when she took them off earlier and adding them to her pile with her hoodie before joining Axel at the exit to the field, " After you." she replied, turning to smile at the other demigod. Axel rolled his eyes at Astrid’s retort. Maybe a little? Ok, keep telling yourself that… Axel thought to himself. He listened in to the blonde’s other questions, and realized he hadn’t updated her on recent news he’d received. With the events that had happened in the past week, he hardly had time to see her aside from passing her around camp. Although first, he answered her directly with a smile. “First of all, you’re the one who suggested this, and I guess it’s a Centurion thing, I’ve trained many of those in my cohort.” He smirked as Astrid asked if he trained all the pretty girls that came into camp. If he was being honest, he didn’t find almost any of the other girls as attractive as the one standing before him. But that hadn’t stopped him from flirting with them from time to time either.
Just as he expected, Axel had made Astrid laugh by blowing a raspberry in her face, and he laughed as she did so herself. “They should have everything you need, otherwise I don’t know how people in New Rome would live.” Axel snorted to Astrid’s sarcasm, but responded smoothly, “Oh I do, but what I really want is the entire camp seeing you with me.” He put his arm over the girl’s shoulder, smiling and looking down at Astrid as he lead her back towards the barracks. Even though he was a hopeless flirt, he actually meant what he said. Of course, Axel didn't want it to seem like they were 'together' - so to speak - yet, but it would be nice to make sure any other guys wouldn't even think about going after Astrid. The son of Venus wanted to explore where this interest would go.
As they walked, Axel finally brought up what had kept him from making sure her first week was going well. “I feel bad I haven’t checked to see how you were doing this week, but a lot’s been going on in the legion for me.” It had worried him all week how the new demigod was doing with adjusting to camp. But he had mixed feelings on the previous week with what happened to him, but was excited to tell Astrid both things nonetheless. “Good news or not as good news first?”

Astrid rolled her eyes back at Axel, scrunching her nose when he correctly pointed out that she had suggested the training, " While that is true," she agreed, " I'm not in your cohort however." she noted, noticing that he hadn't answered her comment about only training pretty girls but the blonde decided to take the lack of a response as being in her favor. " You can't tell me you didn't enjoy training," she commented with a smirk, " I saw the way you were looking at me throughout the session." she added. The other demigod hadn't exactly made it a secret that he liked her, and she was definitely starting to genuinely like him, without the influence of the powers his mother gave him. Hawke scrunched her nose, " I hope they do, otherwise it won't be nearly as good as it should be." she replied, knowing that her spaghetti would only be good with the proper ingredients, without them it was just regular spaghetti, and she refused to give Axel Laughlen anything that wasn't her best. The teen laughed at the other demigods response, leaning her head against his shoulder slightly as they walked, almost regretting it because of how sweaty he was. " Already looking to let the camp know I'm yours?" she retorted with a laugh. While she hadn't exactly experienced it herself, she had seen plenty of people at school demonstrate the gesture. Astrid raised a brow at Axel's comment, " I haven't been doing too poorly, I mean, I haven't managed to get killed just yet." she replied, " I did learn how to do something that I want to show you when I get the chance though." she added, with a smile. At the other demigod's next question the blonde bit her lip, " Mmm, lets go with the good news first." she decided, hoping the 'not so good news' wasn't anything too bad or anything harmful to either of them. This was a discussion Astrid couldn’t win. He knew exactly why he was chosen to give the new girl a tour and so did she. Axel assumed she just wanted him to admit that he tried to woo all the new girls by teaching them how to fight. She wasn’t exactly wrong, but in this case, it was her who asked him in the first place. Axel’s ego was too big to succumb to her. “And your cohort didn’t have a centurion, so the praetors asked me to give you a tour.” He shook his head sarcastically, “C’mon, I told you that.” The demigod smiled at the girl’s next comment, he had to give into her this time. “Of course I enjoyed training, how could I not when it’s with someone as beautiful as you.” He looked down at her stomach, uncovered since she was only wearing a sports bra. “Although, I was really just looking at your belly button ring, it was shiny.” He joked, deciding not to fully let her in on how much he was actually admiring her.
Axel shrugged. “Any homemade food is a luxury to me, I’m sure it will be good either way.” The boy hoped to ease her worries, because he definitely would not be as disappointed with whatever she came out with. Axel couldn’t remember the last time he had a home cooked meal. But for Astrid’s sake, he really hoped the market had everything she needed. The taller demigod smiled as Astrid felt comfortable to his touch and rested her head on his shoulder, as sweaty as it was. Axel’s heart seemed to stop for an instant when Astrid referred to letting camp know about them. He hadn’t really thought that part through, and he wasn’t sure what he wanted his intentions to be just yet. Exclusive? Axel had never done that before. But then again, he never felt immediately drawn to someone like he did with Astrid. Getting past his initial shock of the question, he replied with a smirk, “I guess you could say that, yeah.” Oh well, he was going with it, and he didn’t regret his response.
The boy gave Astrid a side eye. “Pft, well now you definitely won’t get killed with the training, but really, I hope your week was alright.” If anyone had given the new girl any trouble in her first week, they would have hell to pay. Learned how to so something, eh? Must be her powers kicking in. Axel tried to think back at what Victoria kids could do besides be extremely competitive, but the thought escaped him. Instead he just nodded, eager to see what the answer was. “Cool, I can’t wait.”
The good news he had was especially exciting to Axel. It had been something he had waited years to happen, and he was still in disbelief that it was actually going on. He looked down at Astrid with a wide grin on his face, a bit of mischief showing as well. “My brother is finally joining the legion! He’s at the Wolf House now, actually.” He briefly remembered the reason why Brett finally decided to be closer with his twin brother, as sad as it was, but knew his condition would become better with time. “I visited Brett this week and he actually asked me to bring him. Hopefully he’ll get through alright, but Brett’s a tough guy, so I know he will.” Axel was through his best news, but he wasn’t sure how Astrid was going to feel about what else he had to share.

Astrid laughed, knowing that conceding to Axel would be better than pushing it, " You have a point,"she replied, " I am glad that it was you instead of someone else though." she admitted. The blonde didn't really know any of the other Centurions, and she doubted that any of them were like Axel. The teen felt her cheeks heat up at the other demigod's next comment, still not really used to being complimented. Most of the guys at her high school had known that any unwanted advances would earn a visit from her father. She laughed when he mentioned her navel piercing, calling it shiny, " I could switch this blue one out for something a bit less distracting." she replied, a part of her hoping that he liked the piercing. Hawke raised a brow, " Oh trust me, this will be good, I refuse to give you any less than my best." she replied, making a mental list of the stuff she'd need to purchase when they got to New Rome. Now that she thought about it, it'd make sense if their store worked the same as the food in camp. " It doesn't seem like there are that many people up, considering it's Saturday." she noted as she looked at their surroundings, only a few other demigods and Lares were milling about from what she could tell. The blonde rolled her eyes, " If I do die its on you then." she replied with a laugh, " The schedule hasn't been hard to get used to, and I have been getting better with my Roman gods." she added, " Latin isn't going horribly either, though someone in my cohort doesn't really seem to like me very much..." she admitted. " What I want to show you is a bit more hands on, however, so you'll have to wait to see it." she explained with a smile, excited to show Axel the power she discovered when she was bored one day. Astrid grinned, happy to see the taller demigod happy, " That's awesome!" she exclaimed, " I thought he was deadset on staying out of the Legion?" she added, knowing Axel had mentioned his brother not being particularly interested in fighting. The teen nodded, " Lupa can be tough, spending half a year with her wasn't exactly what I had expected." she admitted, though in the end it had made her a better Legionnaire, she was conditioned to deal with what they did at camp on a daily basis because of it. " So what's the not as good news?" she asked, wondering what had happened. Axel Laughlen

Axel smiled as Astrid commented that she was glad it was he who met her at the gate of the principia a week ago. The blonde added a new excitement to his sometimes rather dull days, as he had her now to look forward to. With the way the two got along, Axel assumed this wouldn’t be their last date. Eyes widening at Astrid’s suggestion he quickly replied, “No no no, I think it’s hot.” He didn’t think he let on that he didn’t like her piercing, but he wanted to make it clear that he in fact did like it. Astrid did really pull it off nicely, the blue in the piercing matched her eyes.
Astrid’s determination was certainly something to admire. Axel thought it was cute that she wouldn’t settle for anything but the best. Man, that really puts the pressure on me… Axel was lost in his thought, hoping he could live up to what the girl considered “the best”. Even though he had just met the other demigod, he was determined to be that for her.
Axel shot Astrid a nervous glance. “Great thanks, I’m actually worried now.” Axel followed up his comment with a small smile, not trying to put a damper on things. But really, anything could happen at any second around here, and he didn’t need his feelings getting in the way of leading camp. Now with Astrid, though, that would be nearly impossible. Axel nodded, listening to the girl’s first week experiences. A sour look appeared on his face when she mentioned someone in her cohort not liking her. Although he had an idea of who it could be, he asked just to make sure of his theory. “Who do I have to beat up?” He joked. Well, kind of joked. No matter who they were, no one in his legion should be giving a newbie a hard time during their first week at camp. “Well just give me a warning before you show me, alright?” Axel chuckled.
The pair were nearing the barracks, although they were walking pretty slow, caught up in conversation. Normally Axel hated to waste time and was efficient, but he didn’t seem to notice when he was with Astrid. “Yeah, right! I’m pumped. Brett just wasn’t happy where he was, and we don’t get to see each other nearly enough, and that was just getting to him.” It wasn't his place to tell Astrid the full truth. As they came up on the barracks, Axel diverted the question. “I’ll tell you after we rinse off and change, I know you’re gonna have a lot of questions.” He smirked, knowing Astrid well already. He looked back at her as he entered his barracks, thinking of what he should wear on the next part of their date.

Astrid laughed at Axel's response to reassure her that he did in fact like her piercing, " Good to know," she replied with a smile, " I don't think I've ever had anyone tell me that it's hot, though I think you may be the first person that's seen it other than my old friends." she continued, " If my dad knew I had this he'd flip out, it's one of the few things that I saved up for myself, he didn't really seem to mind my industrial piercing." she explained, tapping on the piercing in her left ear to emphasize her point. Hawke hoped Axel would like genuinely like her spaghetti, it had been nearly half a year since she was able to make the dish because of her time at The Wolf House, and her need for the food since she had gotten back to what was a relatively normal style of living had grown stronger over the week she was here. The spirits could bring food from her favorite restaurant to her, but she was the only one capable of making her spaghetti. It never tasted the same because of the different balance of spices she'd use in the sauce, but it always tasted good. The blonde scrunched her nose, " I should be fine, if anything I can run, I've always been faster than most people, not to mention I'm already adept with archery." she reassured him with a small smile. The teen rubbed the back of her neck nervously when the other demigod asked who he'd have to beat up, she knew he was joking, but had a feeling he would beat someone up for her, " Uhh, Isla is her name, I think." she replied, still not quite sure why the other girl disliked her, but there was no friendship, that was for sure. The girl grinned, " I promise it's nothing dangerous or anything like that." she replied, planning on when she'd show the other demigod. Astrid nodded at Axel's response, " Well hopefully he'll be happier in the Legion then." she replied, knowing that the Legion had given her a sense of safety, even if it had only been a week. The teen stuck her tongue out in response to the other demigod's next statement about her asking a lot of questions, " I can't help being curious about things, this is all pretty new to me still." she reasoned, heading inside the fourth cohort barracks and changing into an outfit more proper for a date after she rinsed herself off quickly. Choosing a crop top for Axel's benefit, only because of his comment about finding it hot. It wouldn't hurt to make the other demigod happy, especially when she felt confident wearing it herself. The blonde threw on a light jacket and headed back outside of the barracks to wait for Axel. Axel LaughlenAstrid's Outfit

Axel shook his head, smiling as Astrid explained that not many people had seen her naval piercing. “Yeah, uh, I don’t think that would be the only thing your dad would flip out about right now…” The boy moved his arm, still keeping it on the girl’s shoulder, to reference what they were doing right now. If he remembered correctly, Astrid’s father forbade her from dating anyone while she was in high school. And here the two were, going on a date. Axel secretly dreaded the day Astrid brought him home to meet her father. The demigod naturally wanted to arm himself with his knives, but didn’t think that would win him any brownie points with the blonde’s hockey-playing father. At Astrid’s reassurance, Axel relaxed, but just a little. He felt very protective of those he trained, and protective of his legionnaires in general, as it was up to him to train them correctly or make sure they were by someone else so they would be able to protect themselves from the inevitable monster fights. The demigod tried to shake the though from his head, though. He was supposed to be relaxing with the other demigod, not worrying about everyone else. Axel scrunched his face just at the mention of the constantly crabby girl from the fourth. “Isla hates a certain type of people: leadership and kids of Victoria and Fortuna. She’s… always angry at something anyway, don’t take it personally.” The boy knew all too well how he tried and failed to make peace with Isla over shopping. It was something they both liked, and she couldn’t manage to be civil even over such a fun activity. With the hand that wasn’t around Astrid, he whipped his brow dramatically. “Oh phew, got me scared for a second there.” Axel laughed, hoping he’d land a good reaction from the blonde. The demigod continued to smile and nodded reassuringly, partially for Astrid, but partially for himself as well. He could only hope his brother would like it better closer to Axel. “I’m sure he will, I’ll take good care of him.” Axel chuckled to himself as he stepped into the third cohort barracks to rinse off and change into a nicer outfit he would be proud to go out in. The two wouldn’t just be going into New Rome, but also a tattoo parlor in the mortal world. He needed to look the LA part. Being a son of Venus, Axel naturally took care in his appearance and style. He looked through his expansive collection of name brand clothes and shoes and eventually settled on an outfit. He ran a bit of gel through his brown hair to keep it out of his face, and he was back out the door to find Astrid waiting for him. He completely forgot about the rest of his news as his jaw dropped at the sight of her outfit. And not just because she looked amazing. He crossed his arms and stuck a hip out, as if to act like a petty girl. “Bitch, one of us just has to change.” Axel said in a frivolous voice. Axel's Outfit

Astrid scrunched her nose, " To be honest seeing as though I'm serving a literal army, my dad can live with me dating someone." she replied, " I mean, if you want to call this dating." she added as an afterthought, not really sure where Axel stood on thier current situation. Either way, as much as the blonde loved her dad, his ideals on dating didn't really apply considering she now was in the Roman Legion. When you were at risk of being in a life or death situation almost constantly, you couldn't take other parts of life for granted, and the teen knew that even after only having been here a week. Hawke contorted her face, " That's a pretty stupid reason to dislike someone, to be honest." she replied, " I mean, disliking me just because of my mom is incredibly childish and immature." she continued growing a bit serious, " It's also really rude to decide what kind of person I am based on that, I don't even think I'm going to try and be her friend if she's going to act like that." she finished. Axel had never really seen this side of her, not that he had seen many sides of her, but the blonde didn't mesh well with people who judged books by their covers, per se. The teen punched the other demigod softly with a laugh in reaction to his comment about being scared, " I could just never show you, or show you when you least expect it." she replied with a shrug, knowing full well that the other demigod wanted to know what it was. " What Cohort do you think he'll place in?" she inquired, figuring his less than warlike brother most likely wouldn't place high, but that a connection to Axel may help from what she knew. Astrid laughed as Axel came out in identical jeans and combat boots with an entirely different shirt, but a dropped jaw upon seeing her, causing her to blush. " Hey, I got done first, and you clearly like my outfit judging by your reaction, so if anyone is changing its you." she retorted, then remembered that the other demigod still had to give her the 'not so good' news that he had mentioned earlier, " You also still haven't told me what your 'not so good news' is." she reminded, putting 'not so good news' in air quotes for added effect. Axel nodded, the girl had a point, why not explore a little when you could be thrown into battle at any second? With the strictness Astrid seemed to grow up with from what he could tell, Axel was surprised she was so easy to rebel. Then again, she did have a belly button ring. Axel contemplated on Astrid’s comment on them dating for a moment before replying slowly. “Well, we can just see where this date goes, yeah?” Smiling, the demigod didn’t want to hurt the others’ feelings. Axel knew he wasn’t the one to put a label on something quickly, or sometimes never at all. But if all went well and Astrid was intriguing enough for a second date, he didn’t see why they wouldn’t be considered dating.
At first, Axel was surprised at Astrid’s fiery reaction to his description of Isla. Although, the boy returned similarly, agreeing with the blonde. “I know, right? She hates me for my position at camp, and we’ve only talked once outside of camp.” Axel shook his head. “I can’t stand people who judge me before they meet me, it’s literally one of my biggest pet peeves.” Thank the gods they both agreed on that. The concept was ridiculous to him, he could never be around someone so judgmental.
The boy giggled when Astrid punched his shoulder. Axel wasn’t worried about what she wanted to show him, as long as he wouldn’t get hurt. He couldn’t imagine his date wanting to hurt him anyway, seeing as the boy usually didn’t do anything too stupid. His curiosity could wait, as he listened to Astrid inquiring about his brother. “Hm, I’m not sure. If he’s anything like me, he’ll pick up some weapon pretty quickly, and he can use his fists just as well as I can. Plus I might have some pull.” Axel really wasn’t sure where Brett would end up. He knew his twin would be a fighter for sure, but he might not be into the legion politics as much as Axel.
Axel smirked. “Hey, I’m just surprised we have such similar taste.” Although he couldn’t keep his eyes off the girl, so she was right in that regard. “Nah, we’ll be cute and kinda match, these jeans took too much to get on to take off now.” The boy started walking with Astrid towards the main path to New Rome, slipping his wallet in his back pocket. Since the girl would be making them the meal, he figured he should at least pay for the ingredients. “Oh right, about that…” It probably wasn’t as big of a deal as he was making it, but the demigod knew this could possibly have an effect on how much time he and Astrid could spend together. “The other Praetors stepped down, and uh, they made me the new one.” He looked down at the blonde, unsure of how she would react to the news.
